DAY 172 - Day 75 in Recovery Paradise

This has been another pretty decent day. My throat is a little constricted, but tolerable. I think it has to do with the apples. I had a hot apple cider drink and made a fresh apple cobbler. Very good. I had a big helping for dinner with a little whole milk on it. I nibbled on it quite a bit before dinner also. Ha. Tonight was sushi night, and I ate a half of one California roll. Too dry. Couldn't get the rice to go down for quite awhile. I was going to dip it in the soy sauce and wasabi, but I thought better of it. I haven't used my tube for a feeding in quite awhile. I consider that to be a great success. I'm still not confident enough to have it removed. But I did clear it out with about 400 cc. of water.

I will drive myself up to the dentist's office for teeth-cleaning tomorrow. Then I'll take Lise's car in to get the oil changed. I worked in the garage today, divesting myself of some of my worldly possessions. All the barrels are full--trash and recycling. I have a pile for Good Will, a pile for Habitat for Humanity, and a bunch of things in the trunk of the car to take to Sarah's school. The backs of my legs are sore still from working in the yard yesterday.

  1. Hey, I like the part about cleaning out the garage. I've been cleaning out my cedar closet, but it hasn't even the tiniest percentage of what you've got. Great to hear about the astonishing progress with eating, drinking, cooking, driving, and general merry-making. Keep it up!!
Yesterday I saw the BEST performance I have ever seen of Mozart's opera "Marriage of Figaro"; not only were the singers great but they looked super and acted fabulously---all done by the Dallas Opera in the first of the season. Wish y'all could have seen it, too! Lotsa laughs! There were a lot of kids in the audience, too: a great sign.
    Cheers,

  2. If you are all done there I have a garage in Sonoma County that is crying out for a purge... When you are feeling overwhelmed by life's little 'detours', nothing like a good old backyard or household slash/n/burn to make you feel like you are back in control(at least of your own crap). Always works for me!
