On May 29, 2008 I was diagnosed with Tonsil Cancer. I created this blog to share my thoughts and sequence of events for family, friends and others that are experiencing the same "Inconvenience in Life." I have been blessed with a great life full of wonderful experiences, a caring family, a fabulous wife, outstanding children, good friends, and satisfying careers. Each day is truly: Another Day in Paradise.

DAY 3 - Another Day in Paradise
Wow - Last two days have totally changed my view of things and life in general. It sounds weird, but I am not dreading the coming days, but am somewhat rushing towards it. Like any project that has to get done. This will certainly be an adventure I don't have any experience with. Want to get things rolling and get this behind me. I am determined to have as good an attitude as I can during this inconvenient life experience. Nobody likes a WHINER. I think I am more concerned that my family and friends are positive also...never did like gloom and doom. Am making a list of things I need to get done and get moving on it.
There is a quote I like - that goes something like this: Whe you get older don't slow down....speed up...there is less time left.

DAY 2 - Another Day in Paradise
It was like talking to a contractor about a mouse in your walls...we can poison it (Chemotherapy), burn it out (Radiation) or cut it out (Surgery). Decision was to poison and burn and save surgery if necessary. Lots of tests and consultations coming up.

Day 1 - Another Day in Paradise
Saw a Head and Neck Specialist in Roseville. Got to hear the "C" word for the first time. Said that it was on my left tonsil and had apparently spread to my left lymph node. Wanted to do biopsy to be sure. Found out the hard way I was allergic to ephinefrin (sudafed) mixed with the lidocaine and blacked out and off to the emergency room to get blood pressure and heart rate normal. Bad headache followed - and did not get the biopsy done - told them they should have done it while I was out...Ha. Have to come back tomorrow and do it again with a different specialist nearer to me.
